She has had an illustrious career, both a ballet master and as a prima ballerina, and during her time with the Opera National de Paris she perfected the art of Fine French Ballet, a dance discipline considered by ballet connoisseurs to be the most graceful and precise of all ballet forms.

She performed on the world stage as a  professional ballerina for over 20 years, starting a stellar ballet career in her native Japan, where she won the National Ballet performance title, making her the best ballet dancer in a country of 127.5 million people, a staggering feat.

After studying with the leading Japanese ballet masters, Reiko then moved abroad to enter the professional ballet arena, performing and studying at a number of celebrated ballet establishments.

Madame Cheong’s intricate understanding of the fine principles of performance ballet are unique. Following a lifetime of professional performance, her desire now is to pass on her skills, personally mentoring dedicated dancers of all ages.

“I want to nurture my students’ early passion for dance and create confident dancers with the ability to perform fine ballet. For some students, this training will lead to an international ballet career. For others, dance will become a lifelong health choice. I am equally excited by either scenario.

The Dubai Dance Academy offers excellent teaching, performance confidence, a pathway to a stronger body, and a host of positive results that we know our students of all ages will enjoy.”
